Interactive Space Program 2020 Participant
International Space University (ISU)
July – August 2020
Participated in the first ever online Interactive Space Program with ISU. Worked with a multidisciplinary crew of 86 professionals from over 20 countries to investigate how space can help with future pandemics, specifically in relation to the monitoring, mitigation, prevention, and preparedness of pandemics. The resulting recommendations were presented to decision makers across Europe and internationally.

Ladybird Guide to Spacecraft Operations Training Course
ESA Galaxia, Belgium, European Space Agency (ESA)
September 2018
Topics: Design and operating of a spacecraft in relation to Attitude, Determination and Control Subsystem (ADCS), Orbit Control System (OCS), Power, On Board Data Handling (OBDH), Telemetry, Telecommunication & Control (TT&C) and Thermal and On-Board Software (OBS).
Team Mission: Developed a basic operations design for a mission to Ceres and Pluto. The spacecraft was then subjected to a real-life operational scenario where the problem had to be solved and corrected under a time constraint.
Additional Online Courses
Space Mission Design and Operations Course, May 2020
Over the course of 8 weeks, I have completed a Masters-level online course in Space Mission Design and Operations offered by Ecole polytechnique fédérale de Lausanne through edX.
The course was delivered by Professor Claude Nicollier, one of the first European Space Agency – ESA astronauts. The course covered a wide range of topics including, but not limited to: Orbital Mechanics, Orbital Maneuvers, Interplanetary Trajectories, Propulsion, Attitude Control and Power Generation, and Human Spaceflight.

An Introduction to Aerospace Engineering: Astronautics and Human Spaceflight, June 2020
I completed ‘An Introduction to Aerospace Engineering: Astronautics and Human Spaceflight’ offered by Massachusetts Institute of Technology through edX.
The course covers a variety of topics including, but not limited to: Environmental Control and Life Support Systems, Orbital Mechanics, Microgravity and Space Physiology, Extravehicular Activity, and System Safety.
I found this course extremely interesting and I particularly enjoyed the information and personal insights from Professor Jeff Hoffman, former NASA astronaut, on the affects that microgravity has on the brain, circulatory and musculoskeletal systems. There was also a fascinating discussion with Dr. John Thomas on the role of hardware, software and humans in relation to system safety.
